Nice little dive bar where you can hang out and meet up with friends for some cheap drinks. It definetly caters to the younger crowd (e.g. College of Lake County kids) so probably not a place to take the family. Certainly reminds me of my college days but I'm getting a little too old for places like this.

This is a great place and I have many fond memories of it from going there on Friday nights while I was going to school in the area. It's definitely a dive but don't let that keep you away. The food is great and the bartender is generous with his pours; the Long Island is always on the strong side. Further, everything here is cheap and the service is good. I would recommend a few things. On Tuesday nights they have half priced pizza. The pizza takes a little longer but is pretty good; the meatlover's is a good choice. All of their burgers are good but I particularly like the D&D Burger. It's always cooked to order, which is great for such a generous portion. During Lent on Fridays they have a great fish fry. Lastly, the Holy Fog is fantastic and almost absurd in the amount of food you receive. It's an entire sirloin steak on a big baguette with cheese and grilled onions and peppers. Stop in and you won't be disappointed.

Okay, it's a bit of a dive. Food is surprisingly good, yes its worth eating a meal there. Drinks are reasonably priced. Friendly staff. If you can enjoy a dive you will like this, if don't tolerate that kind of place skip it.

I love this place. Have been driving by the place for years and never stopped in. Finally made my way in and it has been one of my regular bars ever since. Food is great . Beer is cheep and cold.

One more off the bucket list! Yes, I am serious... I have been driving past this place for 18 years and have always wanted to go in. Literally since 1994. My ex's sister lives nearby, and I love dives and I have always wanted to go in. She never wanted to, her sis never wanted to, and it wasn't worth pi$$ing off my then-wife to truck up there by myself. Fast forward to last night. My ex and kids live around there so I get up that way quite a bit. I had nothing to do after my son's game. I got ahold of some friends in the area and we all met up there. It was like being a party in someone's basement back in high school! Loved it! Did not get to try the food - their kitchen closes at 8:30 - so they suggested we bring in our own! How cool is that! Friday beer special was a bucket for $10. Where can you get a Friday special? Such a deal... I will definitely be back for good times - and to try the food!

Went here for a casual lunch with a friend. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger medium well and it was cooked all the way through (no biggie). My friend ordered the Holy Fog which he enjoyed. The service was great - the manager (owner?) came by to make sure we were doing well a couple of times. Our drinks were replaced in a timely manner too. The food was a little better than average in my opinion, and the price a little higher than average. There's a Red Robin just down the street and I know their burgers rock, and the price is about the same. Bottom line - I'll go again if given the opportunity. An average place with average food. Go for the company.

LOVE the employees and the owners. Not much to look at from the outside, Food and drinks are excellent!!!! Keep up the good work!

I just went to this place because my co workers suggested it. It was me my wife and my 2 kids and not only was it pricey but the food quality, temperature and tasteless and horrible. The staff was friendly and our beer was good only because they didn't have anything to with it.. The only thing that was good was the clam chowder and when we left. Do not go avoid at all cost

Town-y bar with a surprisingly incredible menu! Carefully crafted to appeal to those who want to feel satisfied without sacrificing the neighborhood atmosphere.

Cheap, friendly, warm .. DIVE. Like the most divey of dives in a really great way. First bar I visited since moving back to the burbs from the city in 10 years and it just felt pretty much perfect.

Excellent Pizza but make sure you order it with extra sauce and extra crispy. Tuesday is half-off night on pizza. Friday's fish fry (Perch) is very good too. Burgers are great but make sure to get the onion rings with it. Prices are good. Don't let this outside of this place affect you in not going. It's one of the best gems in northern LAKE county.

I've driven past this place for years and finally decided to check it out. It's definitely a dive with domestic beers on tap. More importantly, Fogcutter makes some of the best burgers in the local area. Always cooked right and the way you want it. Burger Thursdays is the day to go - $5 burgers all day. Forget Timothy O'Toole's down the street. I'm going to stick to the place with awesome burgers, cheap beer, and friendly bartenders.

Best little hidden secret in Illinois! I would never think twice about stopping at this dive bar, but you'll be sorry if you don't. The drinks are strong and the food is delicious. There's a different food special daily, so you really have to go back more than once to try them all!! Great prices!

Locals flock to this roadhouse bar and restaurant for the burgers and Friday fish fry. Daily specials for food and bar keep the prices reasonable. The place is lively on Friday night. It is a bit of a cliquish neighborhood bar with friendly service. The food is average and the pours are heavy.

This was first time there, on a Friday night for the fish fry. They serve perch with Cole slaw, choice of fries, tater tots, or huge onion rings. Fish was really good and unlimited. I also had the excellent onion rings. The bar was also happening. The night we were there ESPN radio was there with prizes and Bear's trivia. I came away with a Bears hat. Really happy with the total experience. We will definitely return.

I driven by this place for many years and never have been there. I was always told they had good food but never believed it due to the appearance. They have really good pizza.. Make sure you order it with EXTRA SAUCE and WELL DONE. You will not be mad you told them that. Also the burgers on thursday are half price.. They are the 8-9.00 dollar burgers and they are BIG.. They are a must have as well.

Dive bar feel: no windows, dark inside, minimal decor. FANTASTIC FOOD: we had the Southwest Burger and the D&D Burger. Both amazing, 1/2 lb burgers, cooked to order. Prezel dogs as our appetizer, tater tots and onion rings (literally the best I've ever eaten) with the burgers. So much food for a great price. We took home at least half of what we were served. If we lived closer, we'd be here frequently, but we're from out of state.

Fogcutter is a little bar located conveniently in the middle of nowheresville. The decor fits right in for Lake County which means it hasnt been updated in about 20 years. Not one of the friendly bar patrons seems to mind though. The bar is intimate and has limited room but the crowd is small and local and accommodates the weekend crowd just fine. Dont expect to get any fancy imported beer here like Stella or Hoegaarden - settle for Corona like I did.

Love this place. It is a bit of a dive but in a good way. I have been here 5 times and have never had a bad meal. It is typical pub food but you have to know that going in. I love the D&D Burger. Had it last night, asked for it cooked "medium" and it was perfectly cooked, which is saying something because of the thickness of the burger. LOVE the "Holy Fog" which is a top sirloin steak, cooked to order and placed (uncut) on a big bun with cheese, grilled peppers and onions. Not a fan of the Philly Cheese Steak, but that is the only so-so meal I have had. They have half-price pizza, I think on Tuesday. It is decent. Good place to go and have a Friday beer and some good pub-grub.

One star is generous. What a dump. Smells of urine when u walk in and the beer was stale. Had some food ( which the burger was ok) but I broke a tooth on a french fry, the waiter didn't really care. I know it is a dive, but really????

Went there last night (Saturday). A bit small, but in a cozy way. The door area and front by the bar is where most people hang out but the back area (an add-on?) is less crowded. Seemed to be mostly locals. Very casual, didn't see anyone that would have fit in better in a downtown bar/club. I like the laid back atmosphere. Basic beers, they'd get a 5th star if they had a sizable beer selection. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. One last thing, they close at 2a. Make sure your drink is gone and you're ready to go. They got a little rude at 2a, trying to get people out. But it's completely understandable and IMO, nothing to be offended by.

OK, this place is a dive. Not that it is a bad thing, but it's a dive that looks like it has been renovated from a house. It is mainly a bar that does serve food which I would stick to the fish fry as the perch is pretty good, oh they also serve ribs. The dining area is fairly small, limited to about 9 small tables along with a separate bar area. The good part is it's location as it is at a fairly busy intersection and while it is near Gurnee Mills it is about 2 miles west of the mall area so that it will be a long time before it gets any corporate feel to the area. To sum it up, if you are in the Gurnee Mills area and are looking for a place to eat without a 45 minute wait, this is the place for you.

This is a great place for a corner bar. Granted the interior is old, but the atmosphere was great and the customers and staff were very nice.

OMG this is the best place to get an AWESOME BURGER and an AWESOME Italian beef. We have been looking for a good burger place and little did I know it would be here at a place I have passed my entire life and never went in to check it out. Fries may be average but who cares the portions are HUGE and the apps are just as good and the main course! I will be going back to this place. If you are smart you will try it for yourself!!! I love the Fogcutter!!!
